ORDINARY DIPLOMA AND TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN CLINICAL MEDICINE (CMT)
In this course, we will train health personnel to be capable of focusing on preventive, curative, and rehabilitative health care.
ABOUT COURSE
A diploma in Clinical medicine will be offered by the SECOHAS by utilizing the Curricula that have been developed by the Ministry of Health and approved by NACTE. The course aims at enabling learners to acquire knowledge and skills in performing operational activities in social work and addressing different social problems.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Ordinary level (CSEE) four passes, D and above of non-religious subjects including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Engineering science, English and Mathematics are added advantages
A clinical medicine course provides a strong foundation for medical practice and opens the door to a variety of career opportunities in healthcare.
Physician (Medical Doctor): Clinical medicine graduates can become medical doctors, specializing in various fields such as:
a. General Practitioner (GP): Provide primary healthcare services to patients.
b. Specialist Physician: Pursue further training in fields like cardiology, oncology, surgery, or pediatrics.
Surgeon: Clinical medicine graduates interested in surgery can become surgeons, specializing in areas like general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, or plastic surgery.
Dentist: Clinical medicine knowledge can be beneficial for individuals pursuing a career in dentistry, which involves oral health and dental care.
Nurse Practitioner (NP): NPs can diagnose and treat various medical conditions, prescribe medication, and provide primary healthcare services.
Physician Assistant (PA): PAs work closely with physicians to provide medical care, perform procedures, and assist in surgery.
Pharmacist: Clinical medicine knowledge is valuable in pharmacy, especially when counseling patients on medication use and potential interactions.
Medical Researcher: Clinical medicine graduates can engage in medical research, conducting studies to advance medical knowledge and develop new treatments.
Medical Educator: Clinical medicine course graduates can become medical educators, teaching medical students or providing continuing education for healthcare professionals.
Healthcare Administrator: Individuals can pursue careers in healthcare management, overseeing the operations of hospitals, clinics, or healthcare organizations.
Hospitalist: Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in caring for patients in the hospital setting, managing their acute medical conditions.
Emergency Medicine Physician: Work in emergency rooms, providing immediate medical care to patients with critical conditions.
Radiologist: Specialize in diagnosing medical conditions using medical imaging techniques like X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.
Pathologist: Pathologists examine tissues, cells, and bodily fluids to diagnose diseases and contribute to patient care.
Anesthesiologist: Administer anesthesia during surgery and monitor patients' vital signs during procedures.
Ophthalmologist: Focus on eye care and vision health, diagnosing and treating eye-related conditions.
Gynecologist/Obstetrician: Specialize in women's health, providing care for pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health.
Pediatrician: Care for infants, children, and adolescents, addressing their medical and developmental needs.
Geriatrician: Focus on the healthcare needs of older adults, managing age-related medical conditions.
Occupational Health Specialist: Work to promote workplace safety and employee health in various industries.
Sports Medicine Physician: Treat athletes and physically active individuals, addressing sports-related injuries and health concerns.

ORDINARY DIPLOMA AND TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE (PST)
If you're considering a career in the pharmaceutical industry, this course will give you the knowledge and practical skills for success in medicines analysis.
ABOUT COURSE
This 3 years-long course will help you explore drug discovery, pharmacology, and toxicology and examines the most effective ways that medicines are manufactured, packaged, stored, and administered. You'll take part in innovative class sessions and research, including new methods of drug delivery and drug synthesis.

a. Clinical Research Associate (CRA): Coordinate and monitor clinical trials to test the safety and efficacy of new drugs.
b. Clinical Data Manager: Manage and analyze data collected during clinical trials.
c. Clinical Research Coordinator: Assist in the planning and execution of clinical trials.
Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety:
a. Drug Safety Specialist: Monitor and report adverse effects of pharmaceutical products.
b. Pharmacovigilance Scientist: Ensure the safety and efficacy of drugs throughout their lifecycle.
Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing:
a. Pharmaceutical Sales Representative: Promote and sell pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals.
b. Product Manager: Develop marketing strategies for pharmaceutical products.
Pharmacy and Healthcare:
